The Accommodation

The Hop Kiln is a sensitively restored property that comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. Once the drying room of the former kiln, its distinctive circular sitting room and bedroom above evoke a sense of history and charm. The ground floor features plenty of seating space in the sitting room and through to the dining table which comfortably seats 6 people and a spacious kitchen with kitchen bar which doubles as a work space. The Kiln also features a large enclosed lawned garden with entertaining terrace with glorious views over the cider apple orchard. There is plenty of space both inside and out to be enjoyed with family and friends.

The Hayloft, is a fully self-contained first-floor space accommodating 2 guests, with separate bedroom, ensuite bathroom, large kitchen/living area and features a private external stairway and outdoor sitting area. Both properties artfully blend traditional country style with exposed beams and brickwork incorporating sleek, modern fixtures, creating a welcoming and delightful sanctuary for our guests.

Things To See & Do

The Hop Kiln and The Hayloft are set within an idyllic rural location, and make the ideal base for walkers and cyclists; enjoy the Black Mountains, the Shropshire Long Mynd and local Herefordshire hikes between Neolithic monuments, ancient churches and Norman castles, walk along the river Wye, birdwatching and passing through villages renowned for their black and white timbered houses.

Close by, you'll find an array of country pubs and restaurants, as well as numerous apple and cider distilleries such as Newton Court and Innocent Pilgrim. Within 2 miles, there are several supermarkets and local amenities, and you can enjoy a short walk into the village where there is a working cheese dairy with an excellent tea room and a country pub.

The owners' farmland also offers some lovely walks with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. For those who enjoy fishing, the River Arrow is nearby, and fishing can be arranged for an additional charge. You can also enjoy a game of tennis on the outdoor tennis court or pickle ball on the court which can be arranged through the owner.

Wall End Farm is approximately 10 miles from the cathedral city of Hereford to the south and 10 miles from the ancient market town of Ludlow to the North. Both are full of history, offer good restaurants, and shopping, making Wall End Farm the perfect relaxing base to return to while exploring the surrounding area.

Caring for the environment

At Wall End Farm, we care deeply about our impact on the planet and try to ensure that our properties are as eco-friendly as possible. For example, we use BioMass wood fuel to heat our properties, which not only reduces our carbon footprint but also creates a cosy and warm atmosphere for our guests to enjoy.

We've also installed solar panels to provide clean and sustainable energy to our properties. By generating our own electricity means that we rely less on the grid and contribute to a greener future.

To support sustainable travel, we've added a 22kw 3-phase Type 2 charger car charging point, allowing our guests to charge their electric vehicles during their stay without worrying about the impact on the environment.

We take care to participate in local recycling schemes to minimise our waste and reduce our impact on the environment. We believe that every small step we take can make a difference, and we're committed to doing our part to protect the planet.

So, if you're looking for a luxurious countryside retreat that is also eco-friendly, Wall End Farm is a perfect choice.

Continental Breakfast

We are thrilled to also offer our guests in both The Hop Kiln and The Hayloft accommodation including Continental Breakfast for an extra charge. Guests can enjoy the rustic charm of the converted farm buildings and countryside views, whilst benefiting from waking up to a carefully curated selection of locally-sourced and freshly-prepared breakfast items, designed to kick-start your day in the most delightful way. Whether you're staying in the spacious Hop Kiln overlooking the verdant cider apple orchard, or the intimate Hayloft, with its private stairway and outdoor sitting area, your B&B experience will seamlessly blend the comfort of modern amenities with the rich history and natural beauty of these lovingly restored properties.
